Leoluca V.
Economics Researcher| Data driven, Python, Stata, Git, LaTeX, R
I’m an economist and empirical researcher with experience in academic research, finance, macroeconomics, and public policy. I am currently undertaking my PhD in Economics and Finance at NOVA SBE. In before I have worked as a Pre-doctoral Research Assistant in the Finance Department at IESE Business School, where I developed causal identification strategies, worked with large and high-frequency datasets, and contribute to research projects in monetary economics, corporate finance, banking, and international finance. Previously, I worked as a Junior Economist at the Observatory on Italian Public Accounts, analyzing fiscal policy and its effects on public finances and citizens’ welfare, and publishing more than 20 policy notes. My strongest skills are causal inference, econometrics, data analysis, research design, and communicating quantitative results clearly. I work primarily with Python and Stata, with additional experience in R, Git, LaTeX, and high-performance computing. I’m particularly interested in using rigorous empirical methods to answer economically meaningful questions at the intersection of finance, macroeconomics, and public policy.
