A good story draws you in. A good historian knows when it is flirting with the facts. I help authors, publishers, filmmakers and researchers turn difficult historical questions into clear findings and compelling narratives through research, fact-checking and editing. I am a historian, former Professor and research consultant with more than 15 years of experience. My PhD research examined Western values in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; my master’s research focused on the Middle Ages. My wider work reaches from antiquity to the present, following the connections between ideas, institutions and everyday life. A project might begin with a name in a manuscript, a coin, an inscription, a misplaced border or a claim that sounds suspiciously perfect. First, I establish what we are actually looking at: who produced it, when, for whom and for what purpose. Then I trace the evidence, compare accounts, test translations and investigate what later retellings have changed. A quotation does not become authentic simply by surviving several websites. My approach draws on total history: politics alongside commerce, belief alongside medicine, technology alongside the lives of ordinary people. I bring together numismatics, cartography, historical geography and historiography to connect objects, places and competing interpretations. Bibliographical research establishes the source base; biography brings individual lives into focus. Complex material becomes an organised argument whose reasoning you can follow. My work with written evidence can range from Egyptian hieroglyphic texts to medieval Latin and Georgian manuscripts, including the epigraphic study of Asomtavruli inscriptions. I translate from Georgian, Latin, Ancient Greek, German and Russian into English, with attention to period vocabulary, context and uncertain readings. This breadth creates room for unusual collaborations. I research the history of medicine, from herbal remedies and phytotherapy to modern diseases and treatments; business history, from trading networks to individual enterprises; and the histories of astronomy and modern technology. For film and narrative projects, I combine cinema history, screenwriting and training in film directing to shape research into scenes, character motivations and stories with momentum. Throughout, I distinguish documented fact, scholarly interpretation, plausible reconstruction and creative invention. Where the evidence stops, I make the boundary visible. The result may be an annotated research dossier, a verified chronology, a translation, a biographical study, a manuscript with editorial comments or a historically grounded script. I favour written communication so that decisions, responsibilities and revisions stay clear. For a new collaboration, I begin with a paid, standalone trial with agreed deliverables and an agreed endpoint.
