Kim F.

I’m a writer and editor with decades of experience with both fiction and nonfiction. I offer high-quality work, and can polish your text or write what you want, how you want it for when you want it. I won’t be beaten by a deadline and can spot details at a hundred paces. I thrive on large projects that start in a state of confusion and need whipping into shape. Services include: ✅ Copy Editing ✅ Developmental Editing ✅ Proofreading ✅ Ghostwriting Editing: I don’t churn out corrections to typos and call that ‘editing’. I can help you enhance your writing on all levels while retaining your voice, and edit your text so it says what you intended—only better. I can help you ensure your writing is clear and unambiguous, removing words that hang around doing nothing useful or say the same thing more than once. I can also edit or make suggestions if you go off at a tangent and lose the thread of what’s being discussed. In addition, I can ensure your voice is consistent, amending text that’s in passive voice when it would be better in active (for example). If you've used AI in drafting your text, I can make amendments to humanise it. In the case of fiction, I can address or highlight problems relating to pacing; believability/appropriate behaviour of characters; unnatural sounding dialogue; point of view; clarity; ambiguity; and consistency (for example, someone comes downstairs twice without ever going up). Proofreading: As the final stage in your process, I can remove any remaining errors and add extra polish to your text. A final proofread can enhance your credibility and increase your readership. I can check for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors and ensure your text is consistent in style, as well as address repeated words, spacing errors, inconsistent headings, and formatting errors. Writing and ghost-writing: I can write copy based on your brief, notes or rough draft. I’ve written articles through white papers to complete books, fiction and nonfiction, and have had several books published under my own name. I work in both British and American-style English (and Australian, South African and Canadian English). Though I’ve worked on a wide range of material, my specialties include: Non-fiction: History; biography/autobiography; mind, body, spirit; self-help; metaphysical; occult; astrology. Fiction: Romance; historical; fantasy; young adult; science fiction; children’s fiction (middle grade and young adult). I’d be happy to discuss any project you have in mind to see if we’d make a good fit with no obligation. I can provide editing or writing samples on request. If you've read this far, I'm really looking forward to hearing from you. By the way, you're looking lovely today.
