Online Course Creation: Curriculum, Instructional Design & Video
Most people who come to me think they're making a course. Usually they're making a product, sometimes a whole new arm of their business, and it goes far better when it's designed before it's built. I'm Laura. I've spent 17 years designing and producing online learning, and I run Lift Learning with a small team. We take a course from idea to launch: who it's for and what they'll be able to do by the end, whether it should be a course, a cohort or a community, the module and lesson structure, then the scripts, video, interactives and assessments that make it work. How we usually work together: 1. Course Blueprint (fixed price, 14 days). Your learners, your programme model, the full structure module by module and lesson by lesson, and what to build first. A document you keep, whoever builds it. 2. Launch Readiness. The landing page, waitlist, lead magnet and email sequence, set up for you to run, so the course doesn't open to silence. 3. Build. Content written in your voice, video (AI presenter, human presenter or your own recordings), graphics, interactives, quizzes and set-up on your platform. Quoted from the Blueprint, billed hourly. We use AI workflows throughout production, which means fewer hours on your invoice, not a lower standard. Every piece is written, checked and signed off by people who know how adults learn. Recent work includes a video-led leadership programme for an electrical contractor, built with AI presenters and branching scenarios, and a six-course professional training suite with narrated case studies and interactives. We've worked with organisations including the Open University, Elsevier, the University of Dundee, the University of Zurich, INSEAD, Hitachi and FutureLearn. I hold an MA in Educational Technology, PRINCE2 and the Marketing Week Mini MBA, have taught Communications at MacEwan University, and I'm Top Rated Plus here with 100% Job Success. Not sure yet exactly what you need? That's normal, and it's a good place to start. Send me a message with what you want to teach, and who to.
