I've been a backend engineer for about 15 years. Most recently I was a staff engineer at a SaaS company in Tokyo. Day to day I work in Go, and I've spent plenty of years in Java and Scala too. Most of what I've built are services that take a lot of traffic, tens of thousands of requests a minute, plus the data pipelines and monitoring around them. I like boring, stable systems that don't wake anyone up at night. I'm happiest working with one team over the long term, whether that's building something new or looking after an existing backend and growing it over time. I'm in India, so I overlap with European hours and US mornings. I'll keep you posted on progress in writing, so you don't have to chase me for updates.
