Instructional Designer | Technical & Scenario-Based eLearning
Complex content is my favorite kind of project. I turn technical information, regulations, and SME knowledge into practical, scenario-based training that helps learners get it, apply it, and perform better—so your organization gets more value from the training. I’m an Instructional Designer with 18 years in Learning & Development, including 12 years focused specifically on course design. I’ve worked across healthcare, manufacturing, technology, finance, automotive, caregiving, and other technical or regulated environments—often on long-term engagements that grow into repeat projects. I design for the learner. I don’t start with, “How much content can we fit into the course?” I start with: What does the learner need to understand? What do they need to do differently afterward? And how will they use what they learned back on the job? That is why scenario-based learning is one of my strongest areas. I design around realistic decisions, challenges, practice, and consequences—not scenarios added simply to make a course feel more “engaging.” Most training is designed to prevent mistakes. I design for what happens after them. My process: Assess → Design → Build → Measure Assess — Understand the learner, performance need, content, SMEs, technology, and business goals. Design — Turn complex information into practical, relevant learning through storyboards, scenarios, interactions, activities, and assessments. Build — Develop and test the training in the right format, including Articulate Storyline 360, Rise 360, instructor-led training, and virtual instructor-led training (ILT/VILT). Measure — Look at what happens after launch, gather feedback and performance data, and refine the training based on what learners actually need. What I can help with ➡️ Instructional design and learning analysis ➡️ Scenario-based eLearning and branching scenarios ➡️ Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise 360 ➡️ Storyboarding, scripting, simulations, and assessments ➡️ ILT/VILT, facilitator guides, and participant materials ➡️ LMS and course implementation support ➡️ Technical, healthcare, compliance, and SME-driven content My Upwork history includes Top Rated Plus status, a 100% Job Success Score, $300K+ earned, and 5,500+ hours. More important to me, many projects have turned into repeat work and long-term client relationships. I especially enjoy working with organizations that take learning seriously, value thoughtful collaboration, and want someone who can contribute beyond the immediate task. If you have complicated content, an important training problem, or a learning program that needs both structure and good judgment, I’d be glad to talk— whether you need one substantial project or a longer-term L&D partner.
