U.S. Patent Attorney | Drafting, Filing & Prosecution
Whether you have an invention disclosure, a prepared patent application, or a pending application requiring a response, I can help you determine the next step and carry out the work. I am a U.S.-licensed, USPTO-registered patent attorney with an engineering background and approximately 20 years of experience. My work has helped clients secure more than 100 U.S. and foreign patents. I work with individual inventors, startups, established companies, and overseas patent counsel. You work directly with me throughout the engagement. PATENT PREPARATION & FILING • Provisional, nonprovisional utility, and design patent applications. • Application preparation from invention disclosures, notes, and drawings. • Review and filing of applications prepared by inventors or other counsel. • PCT applications, U.S. national-stage entry, and coordination of foreign filings with overseas associates. PREPARED APPLICATIONS & DRAFT ASSESSMENTS Already have a draft? I offer a substantive Patent Draft Assessment addressing disclosure gaps, inconsistencies, potential claim direction, and recommended next steps. If your application is prepared and you need U.S. filing assistance, I also offer a separately scoped review-and-filing service. The extent of review, any necessary revisions, professional fees, and filing schedule are agreed before work begins. Applicants outside the United States and foreign patent firms are welcome. Written instructions and updates help coordinate work across time zones, with inventor discussions arranged when needed. PATENT PROSECUTION & STRATEGY I handle USPTO Office Action responses, claim amendments, restriction requirements, examiner interviews, and continuation strategies. I can also assist with patent searches and appropriately scoped patentability, clearance, and infringement analyses. TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE Mechanical & Electrical Systems · Software & AI · Chemical Technologies My experience spans mechanical devices, industrial equipment, electrical and software-related systems, and chemical technologies. I bring an engineering perspective to understanding how an invention works and identifying what needs to be disclosed and protected. ADDITIONAL IP SUPPORT I also assist with trademark matters, confidentiality and joint-development agreements, patent assignments and licensing, and selected transactional and litigation-support projects. FEES & GETTING STARTED My hourly rate is $195. Defined projects may be quoted on a fixed-fee or capped basis after reviewing the scope. Government fees and outside expenses are separate. In your first message, please describe the general technology, the assistance you need, whether you have a draft or existing application, and any upcoming deadline. We can check conflicts before you share confidential technical materials. USPTO Registration No. 53,923
