Welcome to my profile! My name is Sammy Mahdi and I am a highly versatile electronic engineer that can help you achieve your goals. My educational journey begins at The University of Manchester where I completed my BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, following on I have completed a Masters degree in University of Cambridge with a focus on Sensors and instrumentation. My education was completed after doing a PhD in nanoscience at the University of Cambridge. My current focus is on low power/high accuracy circuit design, IoT infrastructures, high voltage (>1 kV) portable systems for instrumentation and embedded computer vision systems. Some of the recent projects on which I have worked on: • High reliability step-down converter for harsh environments (-40 to 125C operation). • Embedded Linux system (based on i.MX8 8X) with a 5MP camera and an OLED display. • 4k30fps h265 encoded streaming over UDP using Jetson Nano • Low cost PCB for portable instrumentation (multiple PID control loops, power conditioning, servo control) • Raspberry Pi-based computer vision system with machine learning capabilities, cloud integration and BLE<->Android communication interface. • Ultra-low power consumption heart rate monitor based on ECG (Electrocardiogram) signals
