Mobile App Developer | Flutter, React Native | AI MVP | 100+ Apps
Two kinds of people hire me. Someone with an idea who needs a mobile app built properly and someone whose app is half built and stuck. I have done both for 130+ clients over 10+ years on Upwork, across 100+ Flutter, React Native and native iOS and Android apps. I have been on Upwork since it was called oDesk. In that time most of my work has come down to two things: taking someone's idea and turning it into a real mobile app on the App Store and Google Play, or picking up something already half built and getting it over the line. I work primarily as a Flutter developer, with React Native and native mobile app development as the other two tools I reach for depending on the job. WHAT I BUILD Cross platform mobile app development in Flutter and React Native, using Dart, TypeScript, JavaScript and Expo. As a Flutter developer I build with clean architecture, BLoC and Provider for state management, and Firebase as the backend of choice for most Flutter apps. Native iOS in Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit. Native Android in Kotlin and the Android SDK. That covers API integration, authentication, offline first architecture, local storage, data sync, push notifications, deep linking, plus the part people underestimate: App Store and Google Play submission, review rejections and post launch maintenance. Most of what I do is MVP development. You have a clear idea and a limited budget, and the job is to decide what goes in version one, ship it, and let real users tell you what comes next. Flutter with Firebase is usually the fastest, most cost effective route from zero to a working MVP on both stores. Figma file to a production build on both stores is a route I have run many times. TAKING OVER APPS THAT ARE STUCK A lot of people now start in Lovable, Rork, Bolt, Replit, Base44 or Cursor. They get most of the way there and then hit a wall. The build will not compile for iOS. Subscriptions do not work. Apple rejects it. Or the whole thing is a webview that was never going to pass review. I finish those. Siply came to me built in Rork AI and needed the final work, subscription setup and publishing to both stores. Contest Canada came to me as a WordPress site and needed to become a real mobile app, which I built and still maintain. Bug fixing, redesign and performance work on existing Flutter, React Native and native codebases I did not write is a large part of what I do. One honest warning. If someone offers to wrap your web app in Capacitor or a webview and call it a mobile app, be careful. App Store review has tightened on exactly that. Rebuilding properly in Flutter or React Native keeps your logic, and it passes review. AI INTEGRATION AND AI MOBILE APPS I integrate the OpenAI API, ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude into production mobile apps, most often built in Flutter. AI chatbot development, AI assistants, conversational AI, voice AI with speech to text and text to speech, transcription, image recognition, document processing, and RAG workflows using vector databases and large language models. AI MVP builds are usually Flutter with Firebase handling auth, data and functions behind it. BACKEND, API AND CLOUD I build the backend the app runs on, so you are not coordinating two contractors. Firebase is my default for Flutter apps: Firestore, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging. I also work with Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, REST API and GraphQL, with Supabase, MongoDB or PostgreSQL where the project calls for it. PAYMENTS AND DEVICE FEATURES Stripe, RevenueCat, StoreKit, in app purchases, subscriptions and paywalls, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Apple Watch, HealthKit, Health Connect, BLE, NFC, IoT and real time chat. WHY CLIENTS KEEP COMING BACK Across 100+ apps, a few have crossed a million downloads. Live work includes MindCo Relief and MindCoTine in health and wellness, Siply, and Contest Canada. Clients most often describe the same three things in reviews: committed to quality, clear communicator, reliable. I answer within a few hours, send builds you can actually test rather than status updates, and do not disappear after launch. Several have come back for a second and third phase. INDUSTRIES AI powered apps, health and wellness, wearables, eCommerce, FinTech, healthcare, on demand, real time chat, education, productivity, voice AI, and gaming. HOW WE START Send me your Figma file, your repo, your stalled Lovable or Rork project, or a paragraph describing the idea. You will get back an honest scope, a realistic timeline, and the architecture I would actually recommend, whether that is Flutter with Firebase, React Native, or native, including where AI helps and where it is an expensive API bill. If the project is not a good fit I will say so and tell you what to look for instead. I am a Top Rated developer with a 100% Job Success score, available now, and happy to look at what you have before you commit to anything.
