I build route optimization and dispatch systems for companies that send crews and vehicles to customer locations. Twenty-four years of full-stack engineering behind that — React, Node, Java, and AWS. Most recent project: route optimization for a regional manufacturer running installation crews across a multi-state territory. Their dispatcher planned every route by hand each morning. I replaced that with automated route generation on Google Cloud Fleet Routing — dynamic truck and installer assignment pulled from their existing scheduling data, proximity-based job grouping backed by spatial indexing in MySQL 8, capacity and time-window constraints, and a dispatcher interface that allows manual override and re-optimization around locked routes. Installation cancellations dropped substantially. That's the kind of problem I like: a process that technically works but costs someone an hour every morning and quietly loses money. Before that, twelve years of client-facing consulting — running a custom application practice and building SaaS platforms for the CDC and state health departments. I've also taught full-stack development, which mostly made me better at explaining technical tradeoffs to people who don't write code. Available 20-30 hours per week.
