Terri O.
Experienced editor/writer for all content needs, incl. AI humanization
Good, better, BEST! That's the way I've always viewed my ability to take a project and make it shine. My writing cred was a long time in the making: I spent a few happy decades as a proactive, self-motivated sales professional, leveraging an innate ability to build rapport, cultivate new customer accounts, grow existing business, and close sales into a high level of success and satisfaction. But hidden deep inside was the writer I’d always wanted to be. For years I did small projects for friends and those they referred to me: slowly, unwittingly, unintentionally, I built up a thriving side gig providing content and editing services. Now I write and edit full-time, and over a decade in, I'm still loving every minute of it. Writing, editing, and proofreading are my true passions. I get real satisfaction from completing a well-researched article or taking another person's work and thoughts and bringing out their best. I've almost accidentally developed a reputation and following for the lifeline I provide for those struggling to perfect their personal statements for college and advanced-degree applications. These days, most of my writing lives on a highly regarded personal injury law firm’s website, where I've spent 10+ years as a senior content creator. I’ve crafted long-form articles on challenging diseases and their treatment, high-reward litigation, and the legal landscape that patients and their families are navigating. I’ve also created scripts and recorded video for the firm’s YouTube channel (yes, that's me on camera too!) and have even had a hand in the site's SEO strategy, page redesigns, and content planning across 1,500+ pages. Editing is my true love - polishing up prose to make sure the writer's voice and message shine gives me real joy. I've done a bit of everything on this side: corporate white papers for Fortune 500 companies, press releases, manuscripts spanning fiction and non-fiction (including a well-known college textbook, several self-help books, a memoir, and a handful of novels), and as mentioned above, one of my favorite niches — helping top applicants polish personal essays and other application materials for competitive post-graduate programs. I'm professional, detail-oriented, easy to work with, and a meticulous researcher who's obsessed with the details. I’m also a bit of a chameleon: ask me to write on just about any topic and I'll dive right in, providing whatever tone and voice you're looking for. I also edit and humanize AI-generated copy, removing robotic phrasing, repetition, and generic filler so that content reads naturally and sounds like a real person wrote it. I check for accuracy and smooth the flow, all while adjusting the tone to match your brand's voice. And thanks to twenty-five years of selling advertising, I still live for deadlines, so you can count on me meeting yours while handing over content you'll be proud to call your own. I look forward to working on your project!
