Kate Q.

Hi! My name is Kate Queen and I have been writing full-time for over 20 years, with a special emphasis in Film/TV. I've been on Upwork since it was Odesk in 2002 so I've seen and done it all, my film and marketing background is unique for those seeking explainer scripts that convert, ads that engage, short form videos to increase views or any other basic content that could use an elevated or cinematic feel with targeted intent. I'm extremely passionate about any job I take on and finding success for the clients I work for. I'm drawn to the fellow dreamers, ambitious enthusiasts, unhinged creatives, people who want to make the world a better place or tell a story that matters. I'm an expert on the financial side of Film as well as the creative with a skill set that includes: Scripting, Producing (both boots on the ground and the money kind), Directing, Fundraising, Marketing, Packaging (attaching name talent), Schedule, Budget, Negotiations, Administrative/Legal, and securing Distribution. I'm big on numbers - I've been trained to write for budget down to the nickel and my job is to keep movies safe, so I'm more of a straight shooter than most. I highly recommend a consultation before starting any film project because I can save you millions in one sentence or put you on the most realistic path for actual production at your budget and experience level. My company Queen Studios was created specifically to create more financially viable independent films. But I'm a pure artist at heart. I love writing scripts and working with other creatives to deliver their vision. Whether it's a passion project, a blockbuster dream, or something commercial that fits in with me and my company's financial models... you can't move in this industry without a great script and it's my joy to deliver them.
