PhD AI Engineer | End-to-End Algorithmic Trading Systems | ML & RL

Many developers can build a trading bot. Designing the infrastructure behind a professional algorithmic trading platform is a very different challenge. As a PhD AI Engineer, I specialize in designing and developing end-to-end algorithmic trading platforms. My work isn't centered around creating a single profitable strategy; it's about building the infrastructure that enables traders, quantitative researchers, startups, and fintech companies to research, validate, deploy, and continuously improve trading strategies over time. One of the core principles behind every platform I build is extensibility. Trading systems constantly evolve, new exchanges, new data sources, new strategy types, and new execution requirements become part of the roadmap. Rather than rebuilding the platform every time requirements change, I design modular architectures where each component can evolve independently without affecting the rest of the system. The result is infrastructure that accelerates quantitative research while remaining reliable enough for production trading. The systems I build are designed to handle large historical datasets, rapid strategy iteration, and production workloads without becoming bottlenecks as research grows. Core platform components include: • Market data collection, storage, and preprocessing • Advanced market representations including Time, Volume, Dollar, Range, Renko, Volatility, and custom Hybrid Bars • Strategy research frameworks supporting rule-based, Machine Learning, and Reinforcement Learning approaches • Feature engineering pipelines with technical indicators and machine learning features • High-performance backtesting with realistic market simulations • Paper trading environments for strategy validation • Risk management, portfolio management, and position sizing • Live execution engines with exchange and broker integrations • Monitoring, logging, analytics, and production deployment My background combines academic research with production engineering. I hold a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and have published open-source research related to AI-driven trading systems. Alongside my research, I've spent years building production-grade quantitative trading platforms across multiple financial markets. While much of this work is protected under NDAs, the engineering philosophy remains consistent: build systems that are scalable, maintainable, extensible, and capable of supporting long-term research and live trading operations. Whether you're building a quantitative trading platform from scratch, expanding an existing research framework, or modernizing production trading infrastructure, I can help design systems that support research, testing, optimization, and live deployment over the long term, not just the next strategy. If you're looking for an engineering partner who understands both Artificial Intelligence and the architecture behind professional algorithmic trading systems, let's discuss your project.
