Junaid A.
Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Zephyr RTOS | Linux Drivers | IoT
Hi, I'm Junaid, an embedded software engineer with around 13 years of experience writing firmware and drivers for real products. I hold a double Master's in Embedded Systems from universities in Europe, and most of my career has been spent close to the hardware. I work on microcontroller firmware in C and C++, RTOS-based applications (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), and bare-metal code, including multicore systems. On the Linux side, I write device drivers and build C++ applications for Linux-based IoT and Edge devices. I've also developed drivers for Windows Embedded Compact in the past, so older WinCE systems are familiar ground for me too. Before freelancing, I did research in code instrumentation and real-time systems. In practice this means I'm comfortable digging into timing problems, interrupt latency, memory usage and the kind of bugs that only show up on the actual board. Work I can help you with: • New firmware for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontrollers • FreeRTOS, Zephyr and bare-metal applications • Linux device drivers (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO), kernel modules and Applications development • Peripheral and protocol work: UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, MQTT, Modbus • Fixing bugs and reviewing existing firmware • Porting firmware to a new MCU or RTOS I keep my code clean and documented, use Git properly, and share progress regularly so you always know where things stand. I also stay available after delivery in case something needs a fix or a small change. If you have a board, a datasheet or an existing codebase, send it over with a short note on what you need. I'll take a look and tell you honestly how I'd approach it.
