I design and build connected hardware end to end: schematic and PCB (Altium, KiCad), firmware (C/C++ on ESP32 with ESP-IDF / FreeRTOS, and STM32), wireless (BLE, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, satellite links), and the app/backend glue that makes the product work in the real world. 15+ years in electronics, embedded and telecom engineering. PROOF, NOT PROMISES • Loomee Smart Book Light (my own product, in development since 2020, about 1,000 units sold and shipped, Kickstarter-funded, patented): custom ESP32-S3 hardware and CE-certified FreeRTOS / ESP-IDF firmware with an event-based state-machine architecture, BLE control from a mobile app, LoRaWAN / industrial IoT bridge connectivity, and about 10 µA in deep sleep. • Railroad measurement platform (Hollandco program, 2020–2024): migrated a legacy x86 / FPGA system to an Arria 10 SoC with four cameras, lasers, IMU and GPS; embedded Linux, drivers, optimized C++, MQTT telemetry, and a PLC / hydraulic hardware-in-the-loop test rig. • Low-power LoRaWAN and satellite IoT devices with BLE provisioning, from firmware and cloud to manufacturing and field validation. • Industrial I/O hardware: 24V protected I/O boards for amusement-park entertainment systems, and isolated I/O cards (optocoupler inputs, high-side MOSFET outputs) built for noisy industrial environments, with multi-board systems linked over CAN and USB. WHAT I CAN TAKE ON • Prototype to production: requirements, schematic, layout, bring-up, firmware, testing • PCB design and design review (Altium, KiCad), including low-power and industrial-grade protection • Firmware for ESP32 (ESP-IDF / FreeRTOS) and STM32: power optimization, BLE and LoRaWAN • Embedded Linux and FPGA/SoC integration in C/C++ • Debugging and rescuing stalled hardware/firmware projects • IoT backends and mobile apps when the product needs them (MQTT, TypeScript backends, native iOS/Android) HOW I WORK Clear scope up front, regular written updates, and documented deliverables: schematics, Gerbers/BOM, source code and test notes.
