Sage S.
Full-Stack Platform Engineer | DevOps, Cloud, Backend
I build, repair, and scale production systems from the application layer all the way down to the infrastructure it runs on. For 16 years, my work has spanned backend engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, Linux, networking, databases, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and distributed systems. I’m usually brought in when a system has become complicated, unreliable, expensive, difficult to scale—or simply too important to leave to guesswork. My work has ranged from pre-seed startups and founding engineering teams through hypergrowth companies, Fortune 500 environments, and infrastructure serving millions of users. I’m hands-on: I write application and systems code, design architectures, debug production failures, build infrastructure, automate operations, and work directly with engineering teams. Python, Django, Go, Rust, PostgreSQL, Linux, AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, APIs, networking, cloud architecture, migrations, performance, reliability, and security. If the problem crosses boundaries between software, infrastructure, and operations, that is usually where I am most useful. I’ve helped companies replace fragile infrastructure, untangle inherited systems, migrate production workloads, improve deployment pipelines, build internal platforms, reduce operational risk, and scale systems through major increases in traffic and complexity. I care less about fashionable architecture than systems that remain understandable, operable, and useful long after they are built. My goal is to build systems people complain are out of style in 20 years because they still work.
