I've been working in IT and cybersecurity for over 20 years, and honestly I still enjoy the work as much as I did when I started. I've had the chance to work across pretty much every corner of security, from SOC operations, threat hunting, incident response, vulnerability assessments, up to pentesting and GRC, which means I can usually figure out where a problem is coming from, not just patch it and move on. Automation is something I do both professionally and for my own projects. I build workflows, data pipelines, and AI integrations that actually solve problems rather than create new ones. I hold a Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals certification and a Torq Automation Analyst credential, and I've taught cybersecurity at a Masters level, having learned to cut the jargon and just get to the point of what is needed.
