Rebecca B.

English Editor and Proofreader

You don't need a subject matter expert—you need a language expert. My name is Rebecca, and I'm a native English speaker with a BA in Creative Writing and English, CPD certification in proofreading and editing, extensive freelance and contract editing experience, and a lifelong passion for writing and storytelling. My experience working with a variety of documents, from academic papers to works of fiction, makes me a flexible editor able to adapt to a variety of styles, tones, and genres. I am always eager to learn new techniques, software, style guides, and best practices, as well. I am proficient in working with both short- and long-term projects, depending on a writer's needs. I am also an open communicator who aims to work together with the author and other project members to ensure the best possible results. I don't just read over your text and pick up stray commas; I carefully review projects for cohesiveness, clarity, and consistency alongside grammatical correctness. Good editing takes time, but it's worth it to make your text the best it can be. PLEASE NOTE: I will not work with AI-generated content. AI-assisted content will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
