As an MBA graduate from Penn State University with a passion for marketing and a love of all things fashion-related, I have a unique perspective on the world that translates over very well into my writing ability. I fell in love with fashion at a young age when I was accidentally enrolled in a Fashion Technology course as a high school freshman. Up until this point, I was a self-proclaimed tomboy with little interest in what I wore or how I looked. I quickly fell in love with fashion and discovered that I had a knack for rendering and design. Soon, I was competing statewide in Fashion Design representing my high school and had developed a slight obsession with vintage style. Although I had planned to go to design school, a full-ride water polo scholarship stole me away to Pennsylvania. I thought my fashion dreams were at an end, but I soon found an on-campus club that met each week to discuss the latest news and collections. They invited me to headline their annual Spring Fashion Show each year of my attendance, for which I designed, made, and styled three different looks for each given theme. I was then invited to take a part-time position with the Department of Theater and Dance as an Assistant Costume Designer and Technician. It was through this work that I truly honed my design and construction skills and mastered my craft. After graduating with my M.B.A. from Penn State, I spent some time working freelance as a fashion reporter, writer, and amateur model. I have worked for a variety of companies within the fashion and beauty realms as a social media marketer, copywriter, and digital advertising consultant, including such companies as PUMA, Akris / Akris Punto, Art Youth Society and NuFACE. Copywriting has always been very intriguing to me, as it offers me the chance to channel a unique brand voice in a way that brings a piece of clothing or accessory to life. This unique process brings my fashion expertise together with my passion for writing in a way that allows for me to actually enjoy the work that I do. I currently work full-time in the beauty industry for an unnamed company in Creative Operations.
