Philip T.
Industrial Designer
The spectrum between art and engineering is my world. Now with 13 years as a freelancer proceeded by a decades experience with major award winning consultancies, my service aims are innovation, desirability, inspiration and accessibility. My strengths are predominantly ‘form follows function’ orientated, while still retaining a deep love of the beautiful aesthetic, this has gained me a reputation for producing elegantly simple problem solving solutions that have in turn provided my clients with market prominent products. I rely heavily on computer aided design to achieve this and presently run a fully subscribed copy of Solidworks and Solidworks Visualize 2025. I can also generate physical working prototypes due to a strong background in traditional workshop skills and an extensive knowledge of direct digital manufacturing methods. I place great emphasis on client communication and reassurance, posting regular updates as a project develops. Key skills: Concept sketching. Fit and function problem solving. Aesthetic styling. Ergonomics. Product development - both digital and physical prototyping. Detailed understanding of materials and manufacturing processes. 2D technical/engineering drawings. Client/manufacturer liaison. Photorealistic product rendering/visualisation. Branding appreciation. Patent application experience. SolidWorks 2025 user with Elite Application Engineer support and access to all versions. Self taught vehicle engineer.
