Elizabeth V.

Hi, I'm Betsy! I have been teaching and tutoring math for more than a decade, and I love connecting with students and helping them succeed. Students appreciate my ability to quickly diagnose the fundamental skills they are lacking and then patiently explain things in a clear and collaborative way. Parents appreciate my excellent communication, as well as my unique ability to establish a good rapport with each student and help them be confident in math. I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Mathematics and Statistics Education. I have a current teaching license issued by the State of Utah with a level 4 mathematics endorsement. I offer tutoring for all secondary math grades 8-12, but I specialize in AP Calculus tutoring for both AB and BC. I have helped many students over the years to succeed in their calc classes and take the AP test with full confidence. I love calculus and can help you love it, too! Aside from tutoring, I have more than 6 years of experience in developing curriculum materials. I have written and reviewed items for standardized tests, textbooks, and classroom support materials for clients including Carson-Dellosa, HMH, New Meridian Corporation, and others. I joined IXL learning in 2020 and have created and edited more than 150 math videos for their online learning platform, which is used by about 1 in 4 students in the US. I'd be happy to help write, review, or manage teams for your curriculum project! Contact me to set up a free consultation, and let's see how I can help you and your students succeed!
