Hi, my name is Alex and I specialize on web and cloud applications based mainly on the Microsoft technology stack: .Net Framework 4.x, .Net Core 8, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server and Azure (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Azure Kubernetes Services, Search, blobs, queues, etc, etc). While I prefer to work on the back-end part of applications architecting those for scalability and extensibility, optimizing for cloud, designing data storage, implementing business logic and processes, creating WebAPI facade, I also can take care of front-end as well when required. I use Visual Studio 2022 as an IDE. During my prior projects, I also did a lot of work in the dev-ops realm. I developed and maintained a Azure DevOps-based deployment pipeline for a relatively large system consisting of 20+ ASP.NET web applications. It included running unit tests, integration tests, doing pre-deployment adjustments in the configuration, deploying and configuring Azure App Services and Cloud Services -- more than 40 deployment tasks for the Production deployment process, 10+ PowerShell scripts and some MSBuild code. On top of that, I have used Kubernetes on Azure (AKS) to host the microservices I developed. The Kubernetes environments included Nginx-based ingress controllers, deployments and cron jobs. Other technologies and tools I have worked with include: * Apache Ignite (an in-memory database) * Docker * TPL/PLINQ * JWT * Identify Server 4.0 (for securing web APIs in .Net Core) * Hangfire (a job scheduling system for ASP.NET) I can work both remotely and on-site; the latter option needs discussion. A short story about me. I was born in the city of St.-Petersburg, Russia in 1983. I started developing commercial software for Microsoft's platform in 2002. First I worked as a free-lance developer creating websites for clients all over the world. In 2004 I co-founded a software development house AW/Systems which did the same but in a greater scale. We created software (not just websites) for clients from various industries: finance, legal, medical and others. Among all, we also had been developing and maintaining a system for the notorious investment bank, Lehman Brothers. However, I don't believe that we somehow caused its crash. I exited that business in 2008 and since 2009 I worked as an officer (CTO, COO) at a number of internet ventures in entertainment and new media industries. I also worked at Russian subsidiary of a huge pharmaceuticals corporation, Sanofi Aventis, as a IT and Digital project manager where I led the development of a number of live-saving services for people with diabetes. Next I worked at an intellectual property protection startup where I was responsible for the back-end and front-end architecture, payment processing, a big chunk of client's UI, data access and business logic layers. Technically, it is a big ASP.NET/C#/SQL Server/Azure application consisting of 25 individual Visual Studio.Net projects and 50+ SQL Server tables (+ NoSQL data storage mechanisms). Next I worked at Fr8 Company, a SF start-up developing a cloud workflow management service. I am busy with front-end (AngularJS, TypeScript) and back-end (Azure, C#, SQL Server) engineering as well as Dev-ops (Azure, Visual Studio Online. MSBuild and PowerShell). Now I'm working at a UK company Utility Click Limited that offers a cloud CRM solution for the energy and utilities industries. Here I learned to love Kubernetes and the microservices architecture in general. I have been working there for almost 10 years.
