Academic Research and Writing (1997-2010) While earning my PhD and subsequent postdoctoral research I gained academic writing and grant writing experience in genetics, developmental biology, biochemistry, cell biology, diabetes, diabetic eye disease, muscular dystrophy and Prader-Willi Syndrome. I have many first author papers in peer-reviewed journals. In each of my research positions I have been successful in writing grants to secure funding for my research.
