Life with Technology: It's a Roller Coaster Ride!
My electronics experience began over 50 years ago when I started circuit building at age 12. The passion never left me. I worked as an electronics tech (ETN2 SS) on Poseidon class submarines in the early '70s, then as a computer field engineer for a startup (IV Phase Systems later to become Motorola Computer Systems), then as a test engineer for Guardian Life Ins Co, where I designed and built a technology test lab. I have Heavy bread-boarding experience and built many prototypes using everything from vacuum tubes to SMD parts. Excellent experience with PCB design and layout. My current passion is embedded systems using both open source hardware (Arduino, RaspberryPi, Particle Photon, Expressif, etc) and custom designed using Microchip PIC devices interfacing them to the cloud. I have programmed in assembler, Basic, FORTH, C, C++, C#, Javascript (including JQuery libraries), PHP, SQL with a smattering of Java, Python, Ruby.
