23 years experience as WordPress admin/developer/coder -- 26 years full stack developer experience My focus, my passion, is WordPress! I've been working with WordPress since its inception and love staying up to date on all the exciting developments of this versatile platform. I regularly work on both server- and client-side components (everything backend to frontend), as well as speed issues, and SEO. I have experience with single-site and multisite installations of WordPress; self-hosted as well as wordpress DOT com sites. On aesthetics and frontside design: I have created hundreds of custom themes. I write themes from scratch or create new child themes to fully customize any popular 'builder' theme to look exactly how you want. --I can take your mockup images or example website(s), and create a pixel-perfect new WordPress site to highlight your content/product. I have advanced CSS skills so I can accomplish fast and creative solutions to styling limitations of themes or builders, and solve any browser-compatibility or responsiveness issues. I regularly incorporate HTML, CSS, Javascript, JSON, XML, jQuery. On the backend..: I have experience with every coded aspect of WordPress, including writing and editing plugins or special code to expand functionality of popular builders like Elementor, Beaver Builder, etc. Oftentimes I write custom plugins to integrate functionality of dissimilar plugins or third-party apps. For example, custom MySQL database queries can be used to better display content, such as when a client needs to display a mix of data from 2 plugins that aren't integrated out-of-the-box. Or sometimes a client will need a shortcode they can use to stick in pages themselves that will output plugin data in a different way than the default options. ** If what you want can be done with PHP, I can code it for you! ** Optimizing all the layers: Speed -- Getting all the stack layers to play well together is what it's all about. After all, your site can be as pretty as a picture, but if it doesn't load in time for the average internet connection, that's lost sales; lost audience! Let's get you UP TO SPEED! With all the DIY 'builder themes' out there, it's very common for site owners to inadvertently end up with sites that are slower than molasses. I regularly come in at this point, assess, provide a report showing the issues and suggested fixes/options, then enact the optimization plan you approve, so your site can be all it's meant to be! If you are just starting building your site, it's worth having it built with speed in mind from the ground up. But if you didn't, I can still help! Whatever your speed issue/goal is, I can assess and give you a report showing your options and expected results. --including assessing your current hosting. I can help you decide if your current host is adequate, or if you might need to find a more appropriate host(ing plan). For those with higher end hosting, I can perform load balancing and optimization at deeper server layers. SEO -- one of the main ways to connect your audience with your content is through search engine optimization of your website. In addition to 20 years of ongoing SEO experience and learning, I have also worked for two SEO firms, where I greatly expanded my knowledge on deeper competitive SEO tactics and nuances. Whether you've got just a few pages to optimize, or are in the market for detailed competitor analysis, I can help! And in many cases, for a fraction of what the big SEO firms charge. Contact me and I can work out an SEO campaign that fits your exact needs. Whether you want existing pages optimized, help finding keyword phrases to use, figuring how to get ahead of certain competitors, I can put together an SEO outline for just about any budget. --- Not that every site is built on WordPress! -- As a full stack developer I'm not limited to WordPress sites. I have experience with several other popular platforms, as well as totally basic or totally custom HTML, JSON, XML or jQuery sites. If you have a website I can probably edit it no matter the platform. Just ask and I will tell you more details about exact experience related to your specific project. --- Please don't hesitate to ask any questions. I truly enjoy helping folks with their online endeavors, so I'm happy to answer questions and respond to any concerns or issues you may have. Thanks for stopping by!
