Member: ACES Society for Editors Completely human editing As a professional editor for over fifteen years, I have worked with many authors in a wide range of genres. Every book has different needs, and I will ensure your book is clear, consistent, and grammatically correct--keeping your readers engaged while maintaining your unique voice. I have seen the changes in AI-assisted writing come fast and furious, but there is no substitute for an experienced human brain. I read every line of every piece of copy myself, ensuring not only correct word use and grammar but also that nuances are maintained, logic gaps are corrected, and your voice rings true. I am experienced in long fiction, short stories, and poetry and am fluent in the rules of dialogue punctuation. While editing, I will also alert you to any plot gaps or inconsistencies. I have also edited a variety of non-fiction books, including memoirs, cookbooks, workbooks, self-help, and business and finance. I can ensure your book reads naturally and is well-organized, with headings, bullet points, and other standards. I enjoy a wide range of books and only take on projects I feel personally drawn to. To ensure we are both on the same page, I also offer a short sample edit of your work. I prefer to work by the word (see rates below). However, we can negotiate an hourly fee if that is more convenient for you. I edit Word documents, Google documents, or PDF files, tracking changes so you can easily see the edits and accept or reject them as you choose.
