Andrew A.
Furniture Designer and Woodworker
My strong suit has always been that I'm a maker. I find joy in building, repairing, and getting my hands dirty. Those skills only helped me become a complete designer by understanding exactly the materials I'm working on and how it needs to join the other set of materials. I find joy in hand-cutting a mortise and tenon as much as I find joy in sketching and "prototyping" a coffee table in CADD. I find joy in installing ceramic tiles on the wall as much as I find joy in looking for that perfect piece of granite. I enjoy all types of woodworking including power tools and CNC works, but traditional hand tool joinery is the closest to the heart. I studied Architecture. I had worked for a town planning office, an interior design firm, and a fit-out works factory that manufactures kitchen cabinets. Currently using Freecad, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Inkscape, and Blender.
