Need a Joomla upgrade, custom extension, or help fixing a broken website? I'm a Joomla Certified Developer and Top Rated freelancer with 100% Job Success, 100+ completed Upwork jobs, and 2,800+ hours logged. I've been working in web development since 2013, with a strong focus on Joomla and WordPress. As a Lead Joomla & WordPress Developer at WDMtech, I help businesses and agencies maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, and extend their websites. A large part of my work involves existing websites. I understand that upgrading an older Joomla installation or modifying a custom extension isn't always straightforward. There may be compatibility issues, outdated code, database dependencies, or functionality that needs to be preserved. My approach is to understand the existing system first, identify potential problems, and implement changes carefully rather than recommending an unnecessary rebuild. JOOMLA DEVELOPMENT & SUPPORT • Joomla Upgrades & Migrations – Upgrading older Joomla websites to Joomla 5/6, including compatibility checks and migration troubleshooting. • Joomla Custom Development – Developing and customizing components, modules, plugins, and website functionality. • Joomla Troubleshooting – Resolving PHP errors, 500 errors, extension conflicts, broken layouts, and unexpected website issues. • Joomla Security & Maintenance – Security updates, hardening, regular maintenance, and troubleshooting vulnerabilities. • Joomla Speed Optimization – Improving website loading speed, performance, and database efficiency. • Joomla Templates & Page Builders – Template customization, responsive layouts, SP Page Builder, and YOOtheme. • Joomla eCommerce – VirtueMart, HikaShop, payment integrations, and custom store functionality. • Third-Party Integrations – API integrations, custom workflows, database imports/exports, and external services. • Ongoing Joomla Support – Bug fixing, extension updates, maintenance, and continuous improvements. WORDPRESS DEVELOPMENT Alongside Joomla, I also work extensively with WordPress. My experience includes: • Custom WordPress theme and plugin development • Elementor, WooCommerce, and website customization • WordPress troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization • Joomla to WordPress migration, including content and functionality transfer If you're considering moving from Joomla to WordPress, I can help evaluate whether migration is actually the right decision for your website. HOW I APPROACH PROJECTS I believe fixing or improving an existing website starts with understanding what's already there. For Joomla upgrades and significant development work, I typically: • Review the Joomla version, extensions, hosting environment, and existing functionality. • Identify compatibility issues, dependencies, and potential risks. • Recommend a practical solution with a clear scope of work. • Use backups and a staging environment where appropriate. • Test changes carefully before deploying them to the live website.
