Senior Product Designer & Engineer | SaaS, AI, Data & Complex Products
I help companies turn complex product problems into working products. I’m a senior product designer and engineer with 25+ years of experience across product strategy, UX, interface design, prototyping and software development. I’m most useful when the problem doesn’t fit neatly into a design brief: You have a promising product idea, but the scope and UX are still unclear. Your SaaS product has grown complicated and needs to be simplified. You need to turn AI or complex data into an experience users can actually understand. You need a senior product person who understands both design and engineering. You need to move from Figma to a functional prototype quickly. You have a connected product involving software, sensors or hardware. Your existing team needs experienced product leadership without hiring a full-time Head of Product. I work across the full product process: Product Strategy Product definition, feature prioritization, user flows, competitive analysis, MVP definition and product roadmaps. UX & Product Design Complex workflows, SaaS applications, dashboards, data visualization, design systems and high-fidelity product design in Figma. Prototyping & Engineering Functional prototypes and production applications using modern web technologies including React, Node.js, Firebase and cloud infrastructure. AI & Data Products Product experiences built around AI, analytics, telemetry, video and complex datasets. I don't believe every problem needs months of discovery or hundreds of screens in Figma. Sometimes the most valuable first step is spending a few days understanding the product, identifying what is actually wrong and determining what should be built next. That is why I offer engagements ranging from focused Product Diagnostics and Product Sprints to ongoing fractional product leadership and development. I’ve worked as a designer, creative director, developer, consultant and founder. I also build my own software products, particularly in sports technology, which means I approach client work from the perspective of someone who has to make real product, technical and business tradeoffs.
