I have a Master’s degree in education/curriculum and instruction and over 27 years of education experience. As the foundation of TBG Academic Consulting, I am a freelance Curriculum & Instructional Design Specialist, Homeschool Education Specialist & Consultant, ex-home-school director/facilitator, and learning coach. I am the proud mother of 4 young adults I independently homeschooled from “Kindergarten to highly successful college undergrad and Master's degrees.” I have been married for 31 years and am a proud Nana to two beautiful granddaughters. I have been a freelancer on this platform since 2015, and the explanations given to me about how the algorithm works still confuses me as to why it works the way it does. In my opinion, the algorithm is detrimental to freelancers. My passion for education is what drives me to design and develop customized curricula and educational support materials for independent organizations and education companies. I specialize in consulting with and helping home-school families and groups create, maintain, and sustain an effective and efficient learning community within their homes, organizations, or groups. I also provide consulting and curriculum/course design/writing services that help eliminate confusion, enhance critical learning abilities, and create sustainable learning environments. I have a well-rounded curriculum portfolio and have even written curricula internationally. In conjunction with my homeschool, I developed high school robotics engineering, software engineering, fashion design, art, dietetics, and psychology endorsement career pathways and facilitated a multitude of courses I designed, developed, or outsourced. I provided my home-schooled and compulsory students access to student volunteer programs and established successfully paid internships for my home-schooled learners by developing the programs and negotiating contracts with local businesses. I have recently developed learning plans for toddlers and young Autistic learners using an Applied Behavior Analysis approach. In addition to TBG Academic Consulting, I co-founded ThirtyThree 6 LLC. ThirtyThree 6 LLC is dedicated to providing Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) education support services through curricula, coaching, and consulting. Our diverse products and services are meticulously designed to align with the CASEL SEL Framework, Common Core State Standards, and TEKS, ensuring a comprehensive approach to SEL education. Collaborating with my business partner, Zadie Walker, I've developed and written SEL modules designed to empower participants to manage expectations and emotions, establish supportive relationships, and make responsible, caring decisions.
