Kat L.
Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Educator, & Trauma Consultant
I have over a decade of experience as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, clinical supervisor, and educator specializing in trauma-centered psychotherapy. As a graduate professor, I have extensive experience copyediting and proofreading papers written in APA style, and communicating my feedback clearly to help writers grow their own capacities. I have served as faculty at New York University, Albertus Magnus College, and the Kint Institute. My teaching focuses on trauma-centered care as well as cultural humility for psychotherapists and helping professionals. 📝 Editing My experience includes intimate, one-on-one collaboration as well as large-scale organizational consulting. From 2022-2024, I worked alongside the author to develop and edit the book Drama Therapy and the Bereaved Child from conception to completion. Through my work as a subject matter expert with Greenleaf Integrative, I developed and edited policy for government and non-profit organizations seeking to become more trauma-responsive. My own writing is published in the volume Hodermarsky and in the peer-reviewed journal Drama Therapy Review. 🧠 Trauma-Responsive Consultation I am also available as a consultant for organizations seeking to become more trauma-responsive, either internally among staff or in external work with clients. My experience as a trauma consultant includes work with Greenleaf Integrative (including the National Democratic Institute in Ukraine and Côte d’Ivoire) and the Horizons program for children at Sacred Heart University. I am the past Director of Secondary Education for Miss Kendra Programs through the Post Traumatic Stress Center in New Haven, Connecticut, where I worked with K-12 educators and administrators to create trauma-responsive learning environments. 🫶🏻 How I Can Help I can offer you a keen technical eye for detail—and a sprinkle of creativity when needed. Whether you are seeking a content review in psychology or performing arts subject areas, or simply a second pair of eyes to ensure style guide compliance, I would be delighted to help you bring your project to fruition. If you’re hoping to deepen your professional work by improving trauma-responsive care for staff and clients, I want to learn more about your goals and discover how we might realize them together.
