Welcome! My name is Tomas, I am a web developer based in Bratislava. I build applications both on my own for end clients and in collaboration with companies and startups on their projects. I am passionate about programming and I keep focusing on the best solution I can come up with. I believe this passion is the key point to keep improving, discovering and bringing the best value I can give. I consider it important to understand the whole business model behind a product. I usually take part in the preparatory technical analyses, contribute to a better user experience, accept or, where needed, improve the overall architecture and actively take part in solving any problem that come with the product development. This higher-level perspective then helps me turn a business idea into a well-structured, maintainable application. Since 2014 I have been working with the Ruby on Rails framework and all related web technologies. I find it to be very interesting and powerful for web development and internet services. I prefer a design first methodology and single-purpose components covered by tests. In the AI era I use code generation based on instructions, but preferably in smaller steps so that the output can be reviewed easily. With 10+ years of experience and AI assistance I adapt quickly to other frameworks when needed. I am mostly interested in mid-size projects but also startups where everything needs to be built from zero to MVP and further. Regarding the hourly/man-day rate, I'm happy to accept the mid-range of the dev team's rates, and we can always adjust later if needed.
