Kalli M.

Words have enchanted, educated, and inspired me since I was a child, which is why I love working with clients to ensure their words have the greatest possible impact on their audience. I'm a professional copy editor and proofreader with nearly 10 years of experience. I'm a big grammar nerd with a keen eye for detail, as well as expert-level knowledge of English language, spelling, style, and punctuation. I'm known for my ability to edit texts quickly, while catching the mistakes that others miss. For several years, I worked as an editorial assistant at an academic publisher where tasks included copy editing, proofreading, writing, researching, and creating indices/glossaries. I also interned for an indie publisher where I provided developmental editing, as well as copy editing and proofreading, for fiction manuscripts before publication. My skills include: -Expertise in the Chicago Manual of Style and the AP Style Guide -Expertise in MLA, APA, and Chicago formatting and citations -Expertise in the G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) -Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) I specialize in academic editing, including essays, theses, and dissertations in the fields of education, literature, library and museum studies, and history. I wrote my own thesis in English literature. Additionally, I've had an article published in College & Research Libraries News. I also edit teaching materials, such as lesson plans, presentations, and student worksheets. Message me with some information about your unique project and your goals, and together we can determine if it seems like a good fit. I look forward to helping you make your words shine!
