Energy Industry Professional/Excel Expert / Financial Analyst
I am a strategic energy professional with extensive experience in a several areas, including project finance (Excel) , resource planning, and electric system simulation (PLEXOS, SERVM, Aurora). I have a proven track record in renewable project finance, evaluating electrical system reliability and operations, and integrating renewable resources. I'm an expert in bespoke Excel modeling and have utilized advanced software modeling tools to assess grid operations, reliability and economics I graduated from Columbia and Stanford engineering and have over 15 years of deep experience performing data analysis, project finance, and energy planning. I love slicing, dicing, presenting, and understanding data. My forte is listening to a client and understanding a project’s needs, building a standardized product that is user-friendly, and executing quickly and efficiently. I’ve used Excel and more sophisticated software modeling tools across a multitude of different projects, small and large, corporate and personal. Below are a few examples of my Excel work, in particular: 1) Developed a municipal utility 10-yr pro forma to forecast revenues, expenses, and capital project spending to help board set utility rates. 2) Created comprehensive and flexible discounted cash flow models for commercial solar projects that included project operating cash flows, financing, and accounting statements. 3) Pulled together disparate big data to create utility hourly electric load and renewable resource generation dashboard to give insight into hourly market price exposure for utility’s power portfolio. 4) When I decided to buy a house, I made my own rent vs. buy a home cash flow model to determine which was the better option. 5) Built a pro forma to show economics of a community solar project. 6) Created from scratch a 10-yr renewable power portfolio cost model that forecast power costs for a diverse portfolio of clean resources (wind, solar, geothermal, hydro). 7) Constructed a monthly bill reconciliation tool that reconciled changing bill data across a wide variety of bills for a utility. 8) For my personal use, I created a monthly budget/daily spending tool that budgets and tracks my daily monthly spending to help me meet my financial goals. 9) Developed discounted cash flow valuation of an existing nuclear plant. 10) Developed 40- year hourly cash flow operational model for carbon capture and storage plant to understand economics.
