Hi there 👋, Being a translator nowadays is as challenging as it ever was – AI is everywhere, but worse: so is bad translation, and it's getting more accepted by the minute, everywhere in the world. So why bother? Well I happen to be an ardent detractor of Globish, but more so even of wrong, unfaithful translation. As an experienced copywriter I know what words your audience wants to read, and running your text through Google translate or deepl just won't cut it, trust me. Some examples where you will need an experienced, human copywriter and translator (just like myself!): TRANSLATION ➡️ Marketing copy localization - you don't want to miss this one if you're entering a new market, LET ALONE France (and therefore French people). A badly localized tagline is much worse than NO tagline. ➡️ Website translation - no, "à propos de nous" IS NOT the correct way to translate your "about us" section and if your translator used that, you should probably be worried about the rest of your translation ➡️ Blog articles - sure, we all know you're not asking to translate Shakespeare here but why settle for a translation so bad it will make native speakers cringe hard and bleed from the eye? …And much more (app localization, medical translation, resumes, cover letters, descriptions, and so on) PROOFREADING So you've realized your translation is crappy. Good! Mistakes happen and at least it's not too late to fix it. Even better: you can now have it revised by a great French proofreader: me! Yes, having the right substance and content is good, but what is it really worth without the proper wording? Form is what keeps your reader hooked, and if you’re boring they will stop reading FAST. Also, being a grammar nazi is actually highly beneficial for proofreading as you might imagine. Remember grammar lessons in school and how everybody hated them? Well, not me, I actually love it, which is quite the feat when we’re talking about FRENCH grammar, trust me. If you’re looking for a cheap price and work, I’m sorry to say I’m not the right guy for the job. However, if you’re looking for a perfectionist, nitpicking PITA you’ve found him!
