I am a database / software engineer with 25 years of experience in SQL databases. I have extensive experience in designing and developing large databases from ground up, and I also have experience in remodeling and optimizing existing databases. I gained my experience working with nationwide databases. The system I am most proud of is the processing of healthcare records, which I designed and developed in 1998. It is still running on the same principals, consisting of 12.000+ million records, growing ~42 million monthly. In the last 25 years it was migrated from Oracle 7.3 to 8i, 10g, 11g and 12c, which provided a significant experience in migration. I gained additional experience in remodeling and optimizing while working again on healthcare data in 2014. On this project the record count is much smaller, ~400.000 monthly, but the algorithm is based on a 1200+ pages legislation. During the project I was able to reduce response time from minutes to seconds, often reaching a 60-fold reduction (e.g. 40 minutes down to 40 seconds). I also have 20+ years of experience with MySQL databases in a mission-critical production environment. I designed, developed and operated a PHP/MySQL based system in 5 different locations on Linux servers for 15 years. Lately I am working on Machine Learning projects using Python, Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, OpenAI, Mistral.AI. etc. Looking forward to work together, from tutoring to full system development.
