Juan Agustin T.
threejs guru
10+ years developing Three.js on Upwork, so I know a thing or two. I help companies "build, rescue and improve complex Three.js/WebGL applications" including getting vibe-coded and AI-generated Three.js code actually working in production. If your 3D project is slow, buggy, architecturally messy, half-finished, or another developer got stuck, I can usually get into the codebase quickly, understand what is happening, and move it forward. My goal is simple: reduce the technical headache between your idea and a working 3D product. Why Three.js? During my Master's in Computer Science, I became convinced that 3D graphics would become a fundamental part of the web. I've been working on that idea ever since. Today I work across: * Interactive 3D web experiences * GIS & geospatial applications * Browser-based CAD * BIM * Data visualization * E-commerce product configurators * WebXR / VR * WebGPU * High-end interactive landing pages * Custom WebGL tools and platforms What I bring to a project △ I get unstuck projects moving again. I specialize in entering complex projects that are already running, understanding somebody else's architecture, finding what is blocking progress, and fixing it without requiring a complete rewrite. △ I save development time. Ten years of working almost exclusively with browser-based 3D means I've already encountered many of the rendering, performance, interaction, loading, shader, asset and browser problems that can otherwise consume days of experimentation. △ I reduce technical risk. I can tell you early when an idea will work, when it will create performance problems, and when there is a simpler architecture that achieves the same result. △ I turn prototypes into products. A demo working on one developer's laptop is very different from something that works reliably for real users. I care about loading times, device compatibility, maintainability, UX, responsiveness and performance. △ I make complex systems simpler. I work comfortably between graphics, front-end architecture, back-end services, APIs, CAD/GIS data and 3D pipelines, so you don't need five different people to diagnose one problem. △ I care about how it looks. My background includes fine arts, design and architecture. For me, a technically correct 3D application isn't enough — interaction, composition, motion and visual quality matter too. △ I understand the business behind the software. I'm also a company founder and MBA candidate, so I think beyond tickets and technical requirements. I care about what users need, what drives conversion, what affects KPIs and what is actually worth building. △ Performance matters. I'm obsessed with smooth real-time graphics and regularly optimize applications toward **90fps+** where the hardware and use case make that achievable. Trusted by **The World Bank · American Express · Siemens · MIT · Perkins&Will** I've delivered **75+ WebGL projects through Upwork** and many more outside the platform, with **3,000+ tracked hours and 100% Job Success.** Good to know ‣ Degree in Computer Science with distinctions — top 1% ‣ Master's in Computer Science ‣ MBA candidate at UvA, Amsterdam ‣ Co-founder of ohzi . io ‣ Background in fine arts, design and architecture ‣ 10+ years working remotely ‣ 15+ years working with CAD, GIS and data visualization ‣ Based in 🇪🇺 with international experience across 🇦🇷 🇺🇸 🇨🇭 🇦🇩 🇬🇧 🇹🇼 🇨🇳 ‣ Happy to jump on a call and understand the problem before we start Specialties Three.js / WebGL / WebGPU * Interactive web experiences * Advanced Three.js applications * Shader development * Performance optimization * WebGPU applications * Babylon.js * WebXR / VR Engineering & visualization * 3D CAD platforms * GIS / Geographical Information Systems * BIM / Building Information Modelling * Scientific and engineering visualization * Large datasets and data visualization * E-commerce 3D customization tools Web development * JavaScript / TypeScript * React / Next.js * Node.js * WebSockets * APIs and back-end integrations * GLSL * GLTF / GLB / FBX / OBJ / COLLADA * STEP / STP ISO 10303 My most unusual projects: △ Astrophysics visualization A browser-based visualization platform for exploring large astrophysics datasets and identifying outliers and interesting observations. △ Opinion mining & social-network visualization My engineering thesis project: software for extracting public opinion from social networks, automatically segmenting audiences and visualizing relationships between opinions and users. △ Vegetation simulation A distributed simulation that models vegetation growth based on soil, nutrients, humidity and sunlight, with a browser-based 3D visualization for architects and agronomists.
