Fractional Controller | eCommerce, Inventory & QBO Close | A2X | LMB
Your books are up to date. So why is there still a number you cannot explain? Profit looks strong, but cash keeps shrinking. Inventory does not match the ledger. An Amazon clearing balance carries forward every month. Sometimes the bookkeeping is behind. Sometimes the transactions are recorded, but the accounting still needs another look. I’m Jay Odi, a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines, founder of GreenTarget and a father of 3. I provide hands-on eCommerce fractional controller support, including full bookkeeping, monthly close, accounting investigation, and executive financial reporting. I work through fixed-fee projects and agreed monthly fees. THE BOOKS AND THE EXPLANATION You can hire me to handle the monthly accounting from transaction recording through reconciliation, supported adjustments, and financial reports. I investigate discrepancies, determine supported accounting treatment, oversee corrections, and review the results. The analysis starts with the underlying books. If a margin looks unusual, I check the costs behind it. If cash does not follow profit, I examine the Balance Sheet and cash movements before drawing a conclusion. If you already have a bookkeeper, I can provide controller oversight, technical review, and reporting alongside their work. WHERE THE INVESTIGATION STARTS Usually, with the number you cannot explain. An Amazon deposit matches the bank. The clearing account still has a balance. I trace sales, refunds, fees, reserves, and settlement timing to establish what remains and why. COGS looks too low, or inventory goes negative. I review quantities, purchase costs, FIFO, landed costs, opening inventory, and transaction timing. Profit changes unexpectedly. I read the P&L, Balance Sheet, and General Ledger together. A duplicate sale, missing cost, or entry in the wrong period can change the story. In one review of two related eCommerce companies, Amazon proceeds belonging to Company A were deposited into Company B’s bank account. Matching the deposit to the bank did not resolve the accounting: Company B had received Company A’s money. I traced those deposits and reconciled the amounts due between the companies. You receive supporting schedules within scope, documented findings, and a clear record of completed corrections and questions needing evidence or approval. WHAT HAPPENS EACH MONTH Depending on your agreed scope: • Full bookkeeping and bank, credit card, and account reconciliation • Amazon settlements, Shopify payouts, Stripe and PayPal clearing • Inventory roll-forwards, FIFO, landed costs, and COGS review • Month-end adjustments, Balance Sheet and General Ledger review • Intercompany reconciliation and related-entity reporting • Financial statements, executive summary, and owner review meeting We agree on responsibilities, required records, deadlines, and issue follow-up. Your executive summary answers: What changed? What drove it? What needs attention next? It connects profit, margins, cash, and accounting findings to practical priorities. Annual executive reporting is available separately. WHEN THE BOOKS NEED WORK FIRST Separately scoped projects include: • Cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping • Opening balances, owner funding, and acquisition cutoffs • Inventory/COGS and marketplace clearing investigations • Intercompany reconciliation and consolidated reporting • Cash-to-accrual conversion • QuickBooks Online, A2X, and Link My Books setup and mapping review My experience covers Amazon, Shopify, TikTok Shop, eBay, and Walmart, including Stripe and PayPal. I also reconcile bookkeeping balances against financial amounts supplied by tax preparers. This is accounting reconciliation, not tax-return preparation. FIXED FEES, AGREED DELIVERABLES Projects receive a custom fixed quote. Ongoing bookkeeping and controller support have an agreed monthly fee. For complex or historical issues, a scoped diagnostic establishes findings, open questions, and priorities before we price the correction work. We agree on scope, deliverables, deadlines, and fees before starting. Additional work requires an agreed scope and price before proceeding. Send me your sales channels, accounting software, the period involved, and the number you cannot explain. GreenTarget Clarity → Control → Confidence
