Robert W.

As a Senior Developer with over a decade of experience, I’ve dedicated my career to mastering backend development and resolving complex performance issues across the entire stack. My expertise spans coding, databases, and underlying operating systems, where I’ve consistently delivered high-performance, scalable solutions. I specialize in optimizing and troubleshooting with a deep proficiency in Rust, PHP, MySQL, Varnish, nginx, Linux, FreeBSD, and AWS. My work has empowered clients like AWS Professional Services and Shure Inc. to achieve their goals, from building APIs that handle over 100,000 requests per second to creating custom, geographically distributed high-availability CDNs. One of my proudest achievements is maintaining an eight-figure monthly billing system, ensuring both reliability and efficiency at scale. Beyond technical skills, I’m known for my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders while effectively leading and mentoring junior developers. I’m passionate about continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible in backend development and am always eager to take on new challenges that require innovative solutions and high-level problem-solving.
