Cedric D.
Print journalist | public relations & marketing specialist.
I'm an investigative journalist covering government and business for the Nashville Post newspaper and the Nashville Scene magazine. I've also contributed to NPR's Curious Nashville podcast (90.3 FM WPLN) under Editor and on-air correspondent Tony Gonzalez as well as USA Herald (Tallahassee, FL), the Lebanon Democrat (Lebanon, TN), EQW News (London, UK) and KYC Israel (Haifa, IL). In 2017, I co-wrote a policy memo for Mayor de Blasio of New York City outlining economic strategies to finance a significant infrastructure boon that inherently offsets an impending crisis of overcrowding in Staten Island’s near future. I've written speeches for municipal politicians, including Octavia Williams-Blake, the first Black city councilwoman for Florence, South Carolina. I also covered President Donald Trump's first 100 days for USA Herald. I specialize and am experienced in market research, white papers, speech writing, article writing (e.g. editorial, blog, book reviews, etc.), Wikipedia pages, and academic writing (e.g. peer-reviewed journal entries). I've done this in sports, politics, human-interest, tech, ecology, international crime, etc. It's pertinent to note, as established in my profile, that I served as the first Editor-in-Chief of "The Critical Approach," which is the official newsletter of Tennessee State University's (HBCU) Liberal Arts college. The onus fell to me to proofread, edit, revise, and organize the stories of all contributing writers, which included my own since I, too, was a contributor.
