Kristen S.

I am the founder of the KMS Group, a public relations firm located in Boca Raton, Florida. I have nearly 15 years of combined experience in PR and media including senior roles with two leading agencies in the South Florida area, prior to starting my own agency. Among my expertise includes local, national and trade media pitching campaigns, formulating creative strategies to generate brand awareness, content writing (press releases, thought leadership articles, blogs), and social media management. As a former journalist, I started my career as an on-air TV and radio news/traffic reporter for a mid-market ABC affiliate and a radio reporter in a top 15 market. My PR transition began in hospitality, having since worked with over 100 restaurants and hotels of every size and type, including overseeing numerous grand openings. Since launching my own firm, I have expanded to work with clients of all subjects areas including CPGs, fitness, real estate, financial institutions, tech, schools, nonprofit organizations, and entrepreneurs. In addition to earning my clients national coverage, I have successfully placed them in their desired local coverage, including working with media and influencers in nearly every top 50 metro market and beyond, dependent on brand objectives. One of my greatest strengths is writing which is backed up by years of experience authoring articles for online and print news outlets. My experience as both a publicist and a journalist have helped me to earn continuous top placements for clients with a clear understanding of what makes pitches newsworthy. I hold a B.A. in Journalism from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and was awarded the school's '10 Within 10' Award in 2020. Additionally, I have earned multiple certificates from the Poynter Institute, a nonprofit journalism school, in St. Petersburg, Florida. I currently serve on multiple nonprofit boards and am very dedicated to giving back to the community. Please find more information on my website at kmsgroup.co.
