If your AR is aging past 90 days or claims keep getting denied, that's revenue you've already earned sitting on the table. I recover it. 13+ years in medical billing and RCM, 100% Job Success Score, and my focus is aged AR, denial resolution, and payer appeals for US healthcare providers. Most of the time the issue isn't that nobody's following up on claims, it's that the follow-up isn't matched to the actual payer and denial type. So I dig into why claims are stuck before I start working them, not just push the same appeal template at everything. Some recent work: - Took a Texas psychiatric practice's outstanding AR from $250K down to $45K in about 3 months without a single write-off. - Caught BCBS Texas's downcoding of 99214 to 99213 (effective 7/1/2026) and got those claims paid at the correct level through appeals. - Recovered over $15,000 from AR that had been sitting 90+ days for a multi-specialty clinic, and for a non-profit community hospital in Montana where 61% of AR was over 180 days old, I got the aged AR down by 25%. Day to day I handle charge entry, claim submission, eligibility and insurance verification, payment posting, AR follow-up, denials, and appeals, along with clean claim submission on the front end so fewer denials happen in the first place. I also do credentialing and provider enrollment work, CAQH setup and maintenance, PECOS enrollment and revalidation for Medicare, and enrollment with Medicaid and commercial payers. Recently did this for a medical group in NY, and I'm currently handling it for a psychiatric group in Texas across Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS, and UHC. Most of my work has been in behavioral health and mental health billing, psychiatric therapy practices, independent labs, and internal medicine, plus general multi-specialty and community hospital accounts. Software-wise I've worked in AdvancedMD, Tebra, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, Epic, SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, and PracticeQ/IntakeQ, and I'm comfortable with clearinghouses like Office Ally, Availity, Change Healthcare, and Waystar. On the payer side I'm in and out of Availity, UHC, Cigna, Optum, Payspan, ECHO, Humana, Molina, the Medicare MACs (CGS, WPS, Palmetto, Noridian), and various state Medicaid portals regularly. For calls and check-ins I use whatever the practice already runs on - Spruce, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Slack, doesn't matter to me. I also build out the reporting side using Excel and Google Sheets, turning raw claims data into something a billing team can actually act on. One example: I broke down 1,189 line items of CPT 87798 claims into a payer-level denial summary that showed exactly where the problems were coming from. That's really where the billing experience and the data work come together for me - I keep an eye on clean claim rate, net collection, AR days, denial rate, first-pass yield, the numbers that actually tell you where revenue is leaking.
