As a BCBA with over 10 years of experience, I love finding opportunities to combine my clinical experience with my writing and communication skills to better serve the ABA community. I started out in the field as an ABA paraprofessional in the St. Louis Special School district back in 2010, and I earned my MS in Behavior Analysis and Therapy and BCBA certification in 2013. I continued working clinically until 2016 when I got a job as a BCBA clinical reviewer for Beacon Health Options. Since that time I've worked remotely for several managed care organizations conducting documentation and clinical reviews for Medicaid and private insurance plans. I have a wide variety of experience looking at thousands of ABA treatment plans through the lens of insurance providers. I left managed care permanently this year since I wanted to seek a position where I felt like I could positively impact the ABA community. In addition to my background above, I also love writing and communications (I have an undergraduate degree in English, and a master's degree in creative writing). I'm passionate about communicating in a way that helps parents, providers and other stakeholders grasp complex information. Whether it's educating individual providers over the phone about CPT codes, helping parents understand the specific nuances of their health plan's medical policy, or advocating on behalf of members with health plan medical directors, I'm excellent at diving into the details and providing solutions.
