I’m a systems and support engineer who solves messy technical problems, automates repetitive work, and builds practical tooling around the systems businesses already use. My background spans MSP and SaaS support, Microsoft 365, Linux infrastructure, cloud services, email and DNS, security products, scripting, automation, and increasingly AI-assisted operational workflows. I currently work in technical support for an IT security and cloud services distributor, supporting MSPs across Australia and New Zealand. That means I’m used to troubleshooting real production environments where the answer usually involves several systems rather than one neat product. I’m comfortable tracing issues across DNS, authentication, APIs, application configuration, infrastructure and third-party services to work out what is actually broken rather than repeatedly trying the obvious fixes. Automation and AI I also build automation and AI-assisted workflows for technical and business operations. I use coding agents and local/cloud language models as engineering tools rather than treating AI as a replacement for understanding the system underneath. Examples include: - Automating repetitive administrative work - API integrations between SaaS platforms - Data collection, enrichment and processing - Internal support and operations tooling - Agent-driven research workflows - Python and shell automation - Building small utilities instead of repeatedly performing manual tasks Where appropriate, I’ll simply write a tool to solve a problem rather than spend hours doing the same work by hand. How I work I’m comfortable being given an outcome rather than a detailed set of instructions. I’ll investigate the environment, ask the questions that actually matter, document what I find, and tell you clearly if the problem is somewhere other than where you originally expected it to be. I value practical solutions over unnecessary complexity. Sometimes the right answer is automation or new infrastructure. Sometimes it’s fixing one DNS record.
