Kornel V.
Senior Unity/C# Developer | VR Training Simulations, XR & Tools
I build Unity simulations people use to practise real procedures in VR. Since 2020 I've been the main developer of the Unity VR simulations for remote maintenance at IFMIF-DONES (EUROfusion) at the University of Granada, including deploying them to standalone Oculus Quest. What I can do for you: - VR training & procedure simulators: tool handling, device interaction, step-by-step scenarios, scoring, and authoring tools so your experts can edit content without code (I built a node-based procedure editor for engineers). - Taking over existing Unity projects: audits, refactoring without rewrites, profiling and optimisation. - Unity editor tooling & plugins: custom inspectors, content pipelines, SDK integrations. I wrote the Unity plugin for Pupil Labs' HTC Vive eye-tracking add-on. - XR hardware: Oculus Quest (standalone), Rift, HTC Vive, Android VR headsets, eye tracking, VR gloves, and a 12-camera motion-capture installation. - Eye tracking & awareness VR: I developed XR-SimVision at the University of Granada, a VR app with eye tracking that simulates visual impairments such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, so people with typical vision can experience partial sight loss (co-authored book chapter, Tirant lo Blanch, 2022). - Physics & 3D geometry: my own 2D rigging/deformation plugin (Riggle, XPBD-style constraints), and PhD research on proximity detection in complex 3D scenes (SDF + octree). Background: 10+ years of hands-on Unity/C#. Lead programmer on a client-delivered multi-user VR design editor (EnrootVR). VR games for event clients with PavoVR. Master's in Software Development (University of Granada); BA Interactive Media & VFX (Netherlands Film Academy). Co-author in Nuclear Fusion (2025) and Progress in Nuclear Energy (2023). English fluent, Hungarian native, Spanish intermediate. CET hours. What people I've worked with say: "The colleague I trust with the most technically delicate tasks in my laboratory." (Dr. Jesús Garrido, Head of the VALERIA VR lab, University of Granada) "A very reliable, productive, creative and sincere partner." (Dennis Molendijk, PavoVR) How I work: a short paid audit or first milestone, clear scope in writing, Git from day one, documentation and handover with every delivery.
