I am a native English speaker, with a love of literature and good grammar. I have extensive retail experience in the literature world, having owned and operated my own bookshop for 12 years. I have a bachelor's degree in science and more than 10 years' experience in production management in the chemical industry and am, therefore, fully conversant with both English literature and scientific terminology and vocabulary. I have also completed a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Training for Adults - issued by Cambridge University) course (pass grade) and a basic proofreading and editing course. I have written and published numerous articles in a private capacity and have assisted in the editing and layout of other publications, also in a private capacity. I have proofread and edited manuscripts for a book on Spiritual Growth by a first-time author. I have proofread and edited long essays for students enrolled in the Financial Planning and Asset Management (FAPM) course run by the Dept of Accounting of the University of Cape Town. My current projects include: - working with corporate employees in various European countries to improve their abilities in English - summarizing documents in the field of Health Information Technology and Electronic Health Records for a lecturer in Health Information Technology in the USA, - assessing and detecting the use of AI in everyday writing.
