Chris D.
Documentary Photographer/Film Maker and Role Player
For the past 25 years, my career as a photographer and filmmaker has been dedicated to giving minority groups a voice, challenging stereotypes, and exploring the complexities of the human experience. Through my lens, I have sought to capture both the challenges and the positivity of being human, creating a body of work that emphasizes empathy, resilience, and dignity. My projects have consistently focused on marginalized communities, amplifying their stories and perspectives to foster a deeper understanding of the diversity of the human condition. I have excellent social skills that allows me to engage across diverse communities, and building relationship to those who usually find it a challenge to engage. My photographic work has been published in magazines including National Geogrphic Traveller, Life Force Magazine, I.D. Magazine and Creative review. Parallel to my creative work, I have also served as a trainer for journalists, specializing in preparing them to operate in hostile environments. Using role-play simulations, I teach vital skills for surviving and reporting under extreme conditions, with a strong emphasis on being trauma-informed. Through role play I also have extensive experience in voice work both online and face to face.
