WHAT I FIX • Background noise: traffic, wind, AC hum, fans, hiss, buzzing, electrical interference • Echo and the hollow "recorded in an empty room" sound • Voices that are too quiet, too far from the mic or muffled • One speaker much louder than the other: I balance the levels so both are easier to hear • Clicks, crackle and pops, and distortion where it can be reduced • Breaths and mouth sounds in podcasts and voiceovers • Audio files that need merging or splitting, or fixing left/right channel problems WHAT TO EXPECT Results depend on the original recording. Light noise or echo can often be cleaned up to a professional standard. A badly damaged recording can often be made more understandable, but it won't sound like a studio recording, and some parts may not be recoverable at all. Before we start, I'll tell you which case your file is, so there are no surprises.
