Luca F.

I trained as a graphic designer, expert in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; and as a web developer, expert in HTML5, CSS and JAVASCRIPT. Over the years, I have specialized in printable and digital publishing: books, ebooks, covers, children's books, magazines, financial reports, brochures. This knowledge, and more than ten years of experience, allows me to offer the following: ABOUT PRINTABLE LAYOUT PRODUCTION: ✔ Original layout design from scratch. ✔ Layouts based on precedent works / series / editorial guidelines. ✔ Layouts based on company style, web-page style, company colours, company logos… ✔ My layouts are produced using Adobe InDesign. ✔ Images and covers are edited with Photoshop and Illustrator. ✔ Conformance with Amazon/Ingram/Lulu and other guidelines. ✔ My PDFs are tested before delivery and are easily accepted during the upload process. ABOUT EBOOK PRODUCTION: ✔ Original ebook layout design from scratch (reflowable and fixed layout). ✔ Replica of any given layout from printable to ebook format (I get results very close to the original source, bypassing most of the ebook limitations. You will be surprised by the result). ✔ My ebooks are encoded by hand, NOT AUTOMATIC SOFTWARE CONVERSION (this is the only and effective way to get good results, especially for complex layouts). ✔ Perfectly working TOC and secondary indexes. ✔ Perfect tables, lists, links, footnote structure and metadata. ✔ Image editing and optimization (essential for ebook with many images and for children’s ebooks to reduce the final size and lower the Amazon Kdp delivery cost). ✔ EPUBChecker validation and testing process on various devices before delivery (my creations are always accepted during the upload process, without any problem). ✔ I deliver MOBI / KF8 for Kindle devices, and EPUB for all other devices (iPad, iPhone, Android, PC, Nook, Kobo...). ✔ For any platform: Amazon Kdp, Apple Books, GooglePlayBooks, Createspace, Smashwords, Lulu, Ingram... I SPECIALIZE IN: ✔ Entire catalogs conversion into ebook format. ✔ Complex layouts: technical manuals, financial reports, cookbooks, “how to do” guides, brochure, interactive-PDFs (tables, lists, images, indexes, notes, links, interactivity…) ✔ Fiction: novels, poetry, screenplay, theater (indentation, style, reflowable layout...) ✔ Children's books, comics, graphical-novels, art-book (image editing and optimization, fixed layout…) ✔ Quick Response and Communication. ✔ Available for revisions, even after the conclusion of the contract. Check my portfolio for samples of my work; and please... focus on details and quality of design.
