AWS Architect | AWS Kubernetes | AWS DevOps

Your AWS infrastructure should deploy in minutes, handle a traffic spike without paging you, and get cheaper every quarter - not more expensive. That's the standard I hold myself to as an AWS Architect with 25+ years in software and infrastructure engineering, working hands-on with AWS Kubernetes, and Terraform for regulated organisations that cannot afford downtime or surprise cloud bills. I've worked as an AWS Architect and AWS DevOps engineer for 8+ years on Amazon Web Services and 6+ years running production Kubernetes clusters, delivering platform and infrastructure work for NatWest Bank, Pfizer, HMRC, Cisco, and the UK Home Office - regulated, security-conscious clients where being an effective AWS Architect means building systems that pass audits as easily as they pass load tests. At Pfizer, working as the AWS Architect responsible for the data and BI platform's cloud security, I redesigned database access using RDS IAM authentication. That eliminated static database credentials, cut security review time for new services, and gave the platform team clean, centralised visibility into who was accessing what - a concrete example of AWS DevOps and security-by-design working together. On a shorter AWS Architect engagement for StarCoders, a FinOps-driven audit and re-architecture of their AWS resources cut their monthly AWS bill by 19 percent with no impact on performance or reliability. On the AWS Kubernetes side, I designed and built a multi-tenant EKS platform for NatWest Bank's Important Business Services, implementing Istio-based egress gateways with continuous health checks so each tenant could control its own network egress without touching the shared platform - a design now running in production across multiple business-critical tenants. As the AWS Architect on HMRC's HAWK platform, another AWS Kubernetes multi-tenant system built on EKS, RDS, Vault, Prometheus and Grafana, I was the engineer responsible for onboarding new tenants, writing their CI/CD pipelines, and resolving platform issues directly with the tenant teams, cutting new-tenant pipeline setup time from weeks to days. Infrastructure as Code sits at the centre of every AWS Architect engagement I take on. At HelloChef, I wrote a modular Terraform codebase that deploys a complete environment - VPC, RDS, EKS, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager and ArgoCD - in a single automated run, then handed it over with documentation so the internal team could take full ownership. As the AWS DevOps engineer for ThinkAlpha, I used Terraform to migrate 25 services across 6 environments from physical servers to AWS, replacing manual, on-premise deployments with a single reliable, auditable pipeline. Observability is where an AWS Architect earns their keep once a system is in production. I've built Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and OpenTelemetry stacks across a dozen-plus AWS and Kubernetes environments, including NatWest's end-to-end metrics and tracing pipeline, so tenants could see exactly which pod and service a given metric came from. My core AWS Architect toolkit breaks down like this: 8+ years of AWS across EC2, RDS, EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation and IAM, securing production accounts for banks and pharma companies alike; 6+ years of Kubernetes, including the AWS Kubernetes EKS clusters built for NatWest and HMRC; 6+ years of Terraform, behind every environment mentioned above, from HelloChef's full-stack deployment to ThinkAlpha's 25-service migration; and 8+ years of Python, from Lambda custom resources at Armedia to FastAPI backends at Libertify and SaberAI. On the AWS DevOps side, I build CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and GitLab CI, and I bring SRE and security-by-design practices into every AWS Architect engagement rather than treating them as an afterthought. Client Testimonials "Fabrice is thoughtful and thorough. He dives into a problem and doesn't let go until he understands the problem and implements a perfect solution. He doesn't stop when the solution appears to work well for common cases; he proceeds to account for edge cases and rare situations. He provides useful code review comments. He understands the culture and stated goals of the project, and is willing to push back and ask questions when he observes others behave at odds with the culture and goals." - David Miller, ArkCase Architect "Fabrice is certainly a DevOps expert. He clearly communicated both high-level and low-level concepts and met needs exactly as desired. Highly recommended." - Cody Fitzpatrick, Orbital One "Excellent communication was a big selling point. He truly owned the project from start to completion." - Jeremie Delaitre, Syrp I'm fully insured for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability. If you need an AWS Architect who also owns the Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability sides of the picture end to end, message me and let's talk about your project - I read every message myself and reply within a day.
